Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ballari is a State University established by the Government of Karnataka in 2010 under the Karnataka State Universities Act 2000. It covers the districts of Ballari and Koppal, and is an affiliating university with 120 affiliated colleges offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in sciences, commerce, business studies, education, social sciences, arts and law. Its main campus, Jnana Sagara at Vinayaka Nagar in Ballari, spans about 95.37 acres, with a second campus at Nandihalli in Sandur taluk.
