Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University - Madhepura

Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University is a state university at Laloo Nagar, near the district headquarters of Madhepura in Bihar. It came into existence on 10 January 1992 and carries the name of the socialist leader Bhupendra Narayan Mandal. It works from three campuses, two in Madhepura and one at Saharsa, with 5 faculties and 20 university departments, and it affiliates colleges across the Madhepura, Saharsa and Supaul districts, teaching undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes. Purnea University was carved out of it in 2018.
