About the field:

Law as a career is prestigious and very famous among students in India. Students who want to become lawyers/judges can pursue any of the law programs. The scope of law as career is huge in India. Many big companies/organizations, law agencies, corporate houses, law firms, administrative services are hiring law graduates every year for their organization. In India, Legal education and profession is regulated and managed by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Many famous personalities like Nelson Mandela, Ram Jethmalani, Mahatma Gandhi, Barack Obama are one of those people who were law practitioners.

If a student wants to pursue his/her career in the law field, he/she should first have his/her undergraduate (UG)/postgraduate (PG) degree from a reputed university/college/institute. During these programs, the students learn about various laws like labor law, company law, trade law, human rights law, family law, constitutional law etc.

If a student wants to make his/her career in law, he/she can study undergraduate courses like BA LLB, BBA LLB, BLS LLB, B.Sc. LLB or B.Com. LLB etc. These are five year integrated law courses. If the student has already completed his/her graduation then he/she can directly go for 3-year LLB program. Students can also go for LLM, PhD degree if they want to study further.

There are many law colleges/institutes available in India. They offer UG, PG, PhD programs in this field. These courses are offered in offline and online modes.

After completion of the degree, individuals can start their career as a judge, lawyer, legal journalist etc. Individuals can expect a salary of INR 3, 50,000 to INR 5, 00,000 annually in the beginning.
