• Masters degree in the relevant subject from a recognised university.
• Minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) should be secured in the qualifying examination.
• Candidate appearing for qualifying examination can apply for the entrance examination.

The last date for the submission of application forms for PhD in Biology and Computer Science are October 28 and December 4, 2020 respectively. The Application forms for admissions to PhD in English shall be released on January 15, 2021. The last submission date is scheduled to be on March 15, 2021. There shall also be a written test for students interested in PhD in Computer Science on December 11, 2020. 

• Students must hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject from a university recognized by UGC.
• Students must have obtained at least 55% aggregate score or at least 7 GPA.
• 5% relaxation is offered for students belonging to SC/ST categories.
• Students must also apply and appear for the entrance exam conducted by the University.
