Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University is a state university of the Government of Uttar Pradesh at Jaunpur, established on 2 October 1987 as an affiliating university under the U.P. State Universities Act 1973 and later renamed in honour of the late Veer Bahadur Singh, a former Chief Minister of the state. It teaches through faculties of engineering and technology, science, management studies, applied social sciences, law and medicine, and affiliates graduate and postgraduate colleges in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
