The University of Kalyani is a collegiate public research university at Kalyani in Nadia district, West Bengal, administered by the Government of West Bengal. It was established on 1 November 1960 by the Kalyani University Act 1960, enacted in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. Its activities are now guided by the Kalyani University Act 1981, as amended up to 2001.
