University of Agricultural Sciences - Raichur

The University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur grew out of the Raichur campus of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad and serves the Kalyana-Karnataka region of Bidar, Kalaburgi, Raichur, Ballari, Koppal and Yadgir districts. Agricultural research at Raichur goes back to a station set up in 1932 by the Nizam's government of Hyderabad. An Agricultural Engineering Institute was added in 1969 and became a College of Agricultural Engineering in 1987; colleges of agriculture opened at Raichur in 1984 and at Bheemarayanagudi in 2000, and master's teaching began in 1995.
