State Lal Bahadur Shastri Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Prayagraj was established in 1966, named after former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri with the support of local public figures who campaigned for it. Private management gave way to a government-appointed administrator in 1974, and the college was brought under Uttar Pradesh Government control by a provincialisation order in 1981. It offers a BHMS degree with an intake of 50 students and runs an attached hospital.
