Sree Chitra Thirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology - Thiruvananthapuram

Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology is a medical and biomedical technology institute in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Its origin goes back to 1973, when the Royal Family of Travancore gifted a multistoried building to the people and Government of Kerala; the Sree Chitra Tirunal Medical Center was inaugurated in 1976 and the Biomedical Technology Wing followed at Satelmond Palace, Poojapura. In 1980 an Act of Parliament declared the centre an Institute of National Importance under the Department of Science and Technology and gave it its present name.
