This is the state medical college in Ongole, in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, now called Government Medical College, Ongole.
This is the state medical college in Ongole, in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, now called Government Medical College, Ongole. The foundation stone was laid on 1 July 2007 and the institute opened as Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, a semi-autonomous body set up under state act 31 of 2007 on 37.23 acres. The first MBBS batch started in the 2011-12 academic year, postgraduate courses in physiology, pharmacology and microbiology followed in 2018, and the college was renamed Government Medical College with effect from 28 December 2018.
