Rabindra Bharati University is a state university in Kolkata, West Bengal, established in 1962 to mark the birth centenary of Rabindranath Tagore and dedicated to spreading his thought through humanities, social sciences, art and culture. Its three faculties, Arts, Fine Arts and Visual Arts, sit on the Emerald Bower campus, while the original Jorasanko campus houses a museum. Later additions include geography, human rights and human development, sociology, environmental studies and mathematics.
