Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences began as a small department of dentistry within Maulana Azad Medical College in central Delhi.
Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences began as a small dentistry department under Maulana Azad Medical College and Lok Nayak Hospital in central Delhi. Its first batch of BDS students was admitted in 1983, and the department grew into a full dental college before being made an autonomous institute of the Delhi government and renamed MAIDS in 2006; MDS courses across nine specialities followed in 2007.
