Magadh University is a public state university in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, established on 1 March 1962 at the initiative of then Bihar education minister Satyendra Narayan Singh, with Prof. Kali Kinkar Dutta as founding Vice-Chancellor. The foundation stone for its present campus was laid on 20 August 1964 by President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. It has 19 constituent colleges and about 39 affiliated colleges across the Gaya, Nawada, Jehanabad, Arwal and Aurangabad districts.
