IIIT Kalyani is an Institute of National Importance run as a not-for-profit Public-Private Partnership among the Government of India (Ministry of Education), the Government of West Bengal and industry partners WEBEL, Coal India Ltd and Rolta Foundation, who fund it in a 50:35:15 ratio, in Kalyani, West Bengal. The Government of West Bengal has granted 34.36 acres of land for its permanent campus; construction is under way, and the institute currently operates from a temporary campus at Webel IT Park, Kalyani.
