Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University, at Venkataramannagudem near Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh through G.O.Ms.No.134 dated 26 June 2007, as the second horticultural university in the country. It began with three constituent colleges of horticulture at Venkataramannagudem, Mojerla and Anantharajupet, and started functioning independently from its Venkataramannagudem headquarters on 10 May 2008.
