Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology was established in Gandhinagar, Gujarat in 2001, founded by industrialist Dhirubhai Ambani. Act No. 6 of 2003 of the Gujarat legislature conferred university status on it. Spread over 50 acres, it teaches undergraduate, dual-degree, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in ICT, electronics and computer science through its School of Technology, alongside a School of Law and a Centre for Entrepreneurship and Incubation.
