Davangere University is a state university in central Karnataka, headquartered at Davangere and covering the Davangere and Chitradurga jurisdiction. It was established on 18 August 2009, having earlier run as a postgraduate centre of the University of Mysore from 1979 to 1987 and then of Kuvempu University until 2009. Its 72.14 acre campus holds blocks for bio-science, science, MBA and humanities, along with hostels, a knowledge plaza, an open-air theatre and research centres.
