Banaras Hindu University is in the city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
Banaras Hindu University is in the city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. It was founded in 1916 by the nationalist leader Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, in close cooperation with Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India, and it was established by an act of Parliament, the B.H.U. Act 1915.
