UGC has initiated a special scholarship scheme for Postgraduate Girl students in India. The name of this scholarship is the Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child. Students who are currently pursuing a postgraduate course from any recognised University in India can apply for the Indira Gandhi scholarship 2021-22.

University Grants Commission (UGC) introduced the Single Girl Child Scholarship to empower the girls of our country through the means of education. This Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Postgraduate Girl students will encourage them to continue their Higher Education and also support financially, especially those girls who happen to be the only child of her parents.

• This scholarship applicable only the Girl students.
• Girls students, who had taken admission in a regular, full-time 1st year Master Degree (Postgraduate) course in any recognised University or a postgraduate college.
• The age of the candidates must be within 30 years at the time of admission in the 1sf year of PG course.
• The girl candidates must be the only child of her parents. The candidates must not have any brother though the girl students who are twin daughters / fraternal daughters can apply for this scholarship.
• Students who are pursuing their PG course in Distance mode, are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

• Online Application for Indira Gandhi Scholarship 2021 SGC will be done from the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
• Register on the National Scholarship Portal.
• Provide your complete academic and personal communication details.
• Choose the PG INDIRA GANDHI SCHOLARSHIP FOR SINGLE GIRL CHILD from the scholarship dashboard.
• Now apply for this scholarship by providing some extra information.
• Upload the scanned copies of required documents.
• Submit the online scholarship application form and take a print out the confirmation page.
