The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WEJEEB) conducts the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination every year to filter out eligible students for various undergraduate engineering courses. The student should have passed his/her class 12th or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Computer Application, Chemistry, Computer Science, Biotechnology or Biology (one from the list) in order to sit for the examination.

What is the WBJEE 2023 exam?

The full form of WBJEE is the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. It is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) every year. WBJEEEB handles and controls all the activities related to the WBJEE exam including admit card release, result release etc. The result, admit card and other important details are released on the official website of the exam. The student will need their application number and password in order to download their admit card or result or hall ticket from the website. The applicants will also be required to carry valid identity proof (Aadhaar card/PAN card/school or college ID card/passport/voter ID/10th standard admit card) and a recent passport-size photograph along with the hall ticket for WBJEE 2023 examination

This year, the exam is going to be conducted on April 30, 2023. The authorities opened the application form of the WBJEE 2023 exam from December 23, 2022 to January 20, 2023. After that, the correction window for the application form was opened from January 22 to January 24, 2023. The WBJEE 2023 application form was available on the official website of the exam ie wbjeeb.in

WBJEE 2023 exam is divided into two papers. Paper-1 will have questions from Mathematics/Biology (for B.Pharmacy) subjects and Paper-2 will have questions from Physics & Chemistry subjects. If a student is going to write this year's WBJEE exam, he/she should check the syllabus of the exam before going for it. This will give them a better understanding of the examination. The students can also check the  WBJEE exam pattern and WBJEE sample papers to know important information about the exam.

The result of WBJEE 2023 is released in online mode and the students who have successfully sat for the exam will need their application number and password to download the scorecard. It is very important to know the exam pattern, weightage of topics and marking scheme before going for any entrance examination. The WBJEE 2023 aspirants can check the below-mentioned WBJEE 2023 exam pattern to know details about the exam. WBJEE 2023 is conducted in offline mode. In the question paper, MCQ-type questions are asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology subjects. The exam is divided into two papers. The student needs to qualify for both papers in order to get admission to the desired course.

The students who want to get into a Pharmacy course will have to appear for Biology instead of Mathematics in Paper 1.  The students get 120 minutes for each paper i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Other details related to WBJEE 2023 are given below.

What is the eligibility required for the WBJEE 2023 B.Tech exam?

The eligibility required for WBJEE 2023 B.Tech exam is mentioned below for the aspirants.

  • The student should be a citizen of India.
  • He/she should not be less than 17 years.
  • The student should have qualified his/her Class 12 as a regular student from a recognized board with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science/ Biotechnology/Computer Application as compulsory subjects with a minimum of 45% marks (for SC/ST/OBC /PwD, it is 40%).

What is the eligibility required for the WBJEE 2023 B.Arch exam?

The eligibility required for admission into B.Arch course through WBJEE 2023 is given below.

  • The applicant should be a citizen of India.
  • He/she should not be less than 17 years.
  • The student should have qualified his/her class 12 as a regular student from a recognized board with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science/ Biotechnology/Computer Application as compulsory subjects with a minimum of 50% marks. 
  • The student should have cleared the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture (COA).

What is the eligibility required for the WBJEE 2023 B.Pharma exam?

The eligibility criteria for WBJEE 2023 for the B.Pharm courses are given below.

  • The candidate's age should not be less than 17 years on Dec. 31, 2023. However, there is no upper age limit for WBJEE 2023.
  • The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
  • He/she should have passed Class 12 as a regular student from a recognized board.
  • They must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology/Computer Science/ Biotechnology/Computer Application as compulsory subjects with passing marks in both the Practical and Theory sections individually with a minimum of 45% marks(for SC/ST/OBC /PwD 40%).
  • The student should have passed the English subject of Class 12 with at least 30% marks.

Result & Counselling

WBJEE 2023 Result:

The exam conducting authority will release the WBJEE 2023 result online on the official website wbjeeb.nic.in. The students will be able to download their scorecard from the website once it is out.  The scorecard is needed in the counselling and admission process. With the help of their application number, password and security ID, students can download and view their rank card.

WBJEE Counselling Process 2023

The counselling process for the WBJEE exam is not very tough. The students can check the process below.

The second round of WBJEE 2023 seat allotment will be conducted for the seats remaining vacant after the first round of reporting. The third round of WBJEE 2023 seat allotment results will be published for the seats remaining vacant after the second round.

1) Registration: Firstly students will register themselves on the official website of the exam. While doing the registration, the candidate will provide all the basic details like name, father's name, date of birth, mobile number, and other basic details. The student will have to be very careful while filling in the information during registration could not be changed at later stages.

2) Filling out the WBJEE 2023 exam form:  In this step, the student will fill in the details related to eligibility, course, city, communication, etc. 

3) Document Uploading: In this step, the candidate will be required to upload the required documents in the prescribed format.

4) WBJEE 2023 application fee payment: In this step, the student will pay the application fee of the exam. The Application Fee is Rs. 500 (for General candidates) and Rs. 400 (for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B Candidates).

5) Printing WBJEE Confirmation Page: This is the last step. In this step, the student are required to submit the form and they are advised to take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference. The confirmation page is required for e-counselling too. That is why the students should safely keep the confirmation page till their admissions are completed.

  • The student will have to log in using their WBJEE application number and password.
  • He/she must edit all details as required.
