What is the KCET 2023 exam?
The KCET 2023 exam is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority. The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is one of the highly sought-after entrance examinations in the state for aspirants wanting to seek admission to various undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, pharma, medical, dental, technology, etc.
After qualifying for this examination, the students get placed in the top-notch government as well as private institutes and colleges of Karnataka. To apply for the KCET 2023 exam, the student should either be appearing or have passed the 12th standard or its equivalent exam.
Exam Pattern
What is the KCET 2023 exam pattern?
In KCET 2023 exam, the questions will be asked from the four major subjects – Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Physics. The exam is conducted for two days and is divided into 4 different sessions. On the first day of the exam, the aspirant will be taking the Mathematics and Biology exams. On the second day, there will be Physics and Chemistry exams. Each paper is of 60 marks. For every correct answer, the student gets 1 mark and there is no negative marking in the examination.

Kannada Language Test
Students appearing in the Kannada Language Test will travel to Bangalore. Only the Gadinadu and Horanadu Kannadiga aspirants will be allowed to sit for the test.

Eligibilty
What is the eligibility required for the KCET 2023 exam?
The KCET 2023 exam aspirants should make sure to check the eligibility criteria of the exam before going for registration. The basic requirements of the exam are given below.
- The student should be a citizen of India and his/her age should be minimum 17 years.
- The student should have passed his/her class 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognised board. The student appearing in the class 12th exam can also apply for the KCET exam. However, admission will only be given to the particular candidate after receiving the final scorecard of the qualifying exam.

The student should have cleared his/her 12th examination from a recognised school/institute in Karnataka.
Marks Required
- B.Tech/B.E – The students belonging to the general category should have a minimum of 45% marks, while the reserved category students (SC/ST) need to have scored 40% marks. The subjects they must have taken are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Biology, etc.
- MBBS/BDS – 50% for general candidates and 40% for SC/ST applicants. For admission to medical colleges, the students are required to clear the NEET 2022.
- B.Pharm – 40% in 12th with English and PCM or PCB.
- Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Yoga, Unani and Naturopathy - 50% in 12th with English and PCM or PCB. For the reserved category students, the minimum score would be 40%. Admission to these courses will also be done based on the NEET 2022 score.
- B.Arch – To be eligible for this course, the aspirants must have completed the qualifying exam with 50% (40% for SC/ST students).

Result & Counselling
KCET 2023 Result:
The KCET result 2023 will be available on the official website of the exam. From there, they can also download a copy of their scorecard for future use. Here are the steps which are needed during downloading of the KCET result.
- Go to the official website i.e. kea.kar.nic.in
- Find and click on the link for KCET Result 2023.
- Provide the necessary information asked on the page.
- Verify all the information against your hall ticket and submit it.
- Your Karnataka CET 2023 scorecard will be shown on the screen.
- Download the result scorecard and take a printout for future reference.
KCET 2023 counselling
The KCET 2023 counselling is done in online mode. The student will have to first register for the counselling, fill in the choices of the courses and colleges, and pay the counselling fee. Shortlisted students are then called to verify the original documents at the allotted institutes and complete the admission formalities.
Registration & Application Process
Steps to follow during registration of the KCET application form:
The students are advised to fill out the online application form and complete the KCET 2023 registration within the given time frame. Here are the steps needed during registration process.
Stage I – Filling Details for Registration
- Go to the KCET website - http://kea.kar.nic.in
- Select the ‘KCET-2023 UG Online Application’ link and enter your basic details.
- You will receive an application number and password on your registered number or email id.
- Save the id and password for further use.
Stage II- Login into the website
In this step, the student will log in into his/her account on the official website and open the application form. In the form, the students will be asked to fill the necessary personal details correctly.
Stage III – Uploading Documents
- In this step, you will upload all the required documents and images in the prescribed format and choose the exam centres of his/her choice.
Stage IV – Application Fee Payment
- In this step, the student will make the payment of the application form.

- Find the application correction link from the homepage and click on it.
- Now, log in with your user id and password.
- Make modifications to the details.
- Submit the corrected details before the deadline.
