To apply for JKCET 2023, The student should belong to the Jammu & Kashmir state. Only permanent residents of the state are allowed to sit for the exam. The lower age limit should be 17 years. The Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has set no upper age limit for JKCET. The board offers admission to various engineering courses (B.Tech./B.E.) through this examination.

What is the JKCET 2023 examination?

The full form of the JKCET exam is the Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test. This exam is conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE). Through this exam, the students get admission into various UG Engineering courses of the state. Once the student qualifies for this examination, he/she will be eligible for admission to various courses under BE/BTech like Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering and Bio-Medical Engineering.

This year the exam is going to be conducted on 28 May 2023. For this, the application form will be released on the website from 4 April 2023 to 24 April 2023. To apply for the JKCET exam 2023, The student's age should be above 17 years as of December 31, 2023. The application fee for the exam is INR 1200.

What is the JKCET 2023 exam pattern?

The aspirants who are going to appear in this year's JKCET 2023 exam are advised to check the exam pattern before preparing for the examination. This will give them an idea of the question paper. Through the JKCET 2023 exam pattern, the students will get all the information about the types of questions asked, mode of questions, marking scheme are more.

  • Mode of Exam – Offline

  • Marking Scheme – For every right answer, the student gets 1 mark while for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

Eligibilty

What is the eligibility required for the JKCET 2023 examination?

The student who are wishing to sit for JKCET 2023 exam will be allowed to sit for the exam if the student will meet all the requirements of the examination. Before registering for the exam, the student should make sure that he/she checks the eligibility criteria of the exam and desired institute/college. If he/she doesn't meet the requirements, the application form will get disqualified. The official JKCET eligibility criteria have been listed below:

JKCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age Limit – The student should be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2023. There is no upper age bar.
  • Domicile - The student should be permanent resident of J&K state.
  • Education Qualification – The student should have passed his/her 10+2 or its equivalent exam from a recognised board/institute with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The students who are appearing in the qualifying exam, are also eligible for the exam.
  • Minimum Marks Required – The student belonging to Open Merit including the Children of Defence Personnel, Children of Paramilitary Forces, Children of State Police Personnel, and candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in Sport in the qualifying exam should get at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam. If the student belongs to the SC/ST or OBC category, he/she needs to have a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.

Result & Counselling

JKCET 2023 results:

The JKCET 2023 result is released online on the official website of the exam in PDF format. The result cum merit list of JKCET 2023 will have the name of the students who qualified for the exam along with their corresponding category, roll number, marks, and obtained rank. The merit list cum result is made according to the performance in Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test. Based on the JKCET exam result, admissions into the participating institutes will be conducted.

In case the student has any objection against the JKCET 2023 merit list, he/she can raise the objection personally at the Board office in Jammu/Srinagar during working days within the specified time period. The students get seats in their desired institute as per their rank in the merit list of the JKCET 2023 exam.

How to Check JKCET 2023 Result?

The students who will qualify for the exam will get admission to the desired institute. The students can follow below mentioned steps to download their scorecards.

JKCET 2023 counselling process:

The mode of the counselling round of the JKCET 2023 examination is online. The students will have to register themselves online for the counselling process. Only the students who will be there on the merit list of the JKCET exam will be allowed to sit for the counselling round. The student will visit the JKBOPEE office personally for participating in counselling and seat allotment round. Allotment of seats is done as per the student’s merit, preference, and availability of seats. 

Allotted candidates will visit their respective institutes to complete the admission formalities which will include document verification. In case vacant seats are left after the online Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test counselling, the authorities conduct a separate mop-up round.

The application form for JKCET is released online on the official website of the examination. The students who want to fill out the application form can fill it out online by paying the application fees via net banking/credit card/debit card channels. It is mandatory for all the students to fill out and submit the JKCET form before the last date. All information mentioned in the form should be correct and according to the documents possessed by the student.

  • Go to the official website of the exam ie https://www.jkbopee.gov.in/
  • Now register yourself on the website. After the registration is done, you will get the login credentials on your registered mobile number or email id.
  • Now login with your user id and password and fill out the application form. In the application form, fill all the required communication details, personal details, academic details etc. 
  • Now pay the application fees.
  • Once the payment is done, upload all the required documents and images as per the specified format.
  • Lastly, submit the form and save a copy of it for future use.
