The University of Hyderabad is a central university on Prof.
The University of Hyderabad is a central university on Prof. CR Rao Road at Gachibowli in Hyderabad, Telangana, established in 1974 by an Act of Parliament. It began in The Golden Threshold in the heart of the city, a building bequeathed to it by Sarojini Naidu's family, and moved to its own campus later. Its schools were added over time: humanities in 1976, physics, chemistry and life sciences in 1977, social sciences and mathematics and statistics in 1978, and later management studies, medical sciences, engineering sciences and technology, economics, and computer and information sciences.
