Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University was established on 22 December 2014 by carving the colleges, research stations and Krishi Vigyan Kendra inside Telangana out of the erstwhile Dr Y S R Horticultural University. It adopted the Dr Y S R Horticultural University Act, 2007 with modifications. Headquartered at first in Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, it later moved to Mulugu in Siddipet district, and in 2024 a Telangana gazette notification renamed it Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University.
