Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research is a deemed-to-be university at Tamaka, about 5 km from Kolar in Karnataka. It grew out of Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, started in 1986 by the Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust that Shri R L Jalappa and others founded in 1984, and has been a university since its inception in 2007. Its teaching hospital is the R L Jalappa Hospital and Research Centre, and steps are in progress to bring R L Jalappa Institute of Technology and Sri Devaraj Urs College of Nursing under the university as well.
