Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence is a multidisciplinary, student-centric research university in the Delhi National Capital Region, established in 2011 by Shiv Nadar, founder of the HCL Group and the Shiv Nadar Foundation. It has four schools, covering engineering, natural sciences, humanities and social sciences, and management and entrepreneurship, alongside an Academy of Continuing Education. It was the first university in the country to offer a four-year multidisciplinary research degree.
