Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan University - New Delhi

Central Sanskrit University, headquartered in Janakpuri, New Delhi, began on 15 October 1970 as Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, an autonomous body registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and funded by the Government of India to develop and promote Sanskrit. It went on to run twelve campuses teaching Sanskrit from school level through the Shastri, Acharya and Vidyavaridhi degrees, and became a central university in March 2020 when Parliament passed the Central Sanskrit Universities Act.
