Nilamber-Pitamber University was established on 17 January 2009, with its headquarters at Medininagar (formerly Daltonganj) in Palamu district, Jharkhand, about 175 km from Ranchi. It teaches postgraduate programmes in Science, Social Science, Humanities, Commerce, Education, and Medicine and Dental education directly, while undergraduate teaching in these fields plus Engineering and Law is carried out through its constituent and affiliated colleges.
