National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Ahmedabad, was set up in 2007 as one of six new NIPER campuses established under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Teaching began with Biotechnology, Natural Products and Pharmaceutics; Pharmaceutical Analysis, Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology & Toxicology followed in 2010, and Medical Devices in 2011. It offers M.S. (Pharmacy) and Ph.D. programmes from its campus in Gujarat.
