MANIT Bhopal began in 1960 as the Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT), functioning out of Government S.V.
MANIT Bhopal began in 1960 as the Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT), functioning out of Government S.V. Polytechnic with an intake of 120 students and seven faculty members. It moved to its own campus in 1964. In 2002 it was granted Deemed University status, funded by India's Ministry of Human Resource Development, and became Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology.
