Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur was jointly established in 1963 as Malaviya Regional Engineering College Jaipur by the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. It was given National Institute of Technology status on 26 June 2002, and was recognised as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament on 15 August 2007. It is fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
