Islamic University of Science and Technology in Awantipora, Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir was established through Act No.
Islamic University of Science and Technology in Awantipora, Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir was established through Act No. XVIII of 2005, passed by the J&K State Legislature on 7 November 2005. The university started functioning that November, with teaching beginning in July 2006. Its Chancellor is the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, and its Executive Council includes the Vice Chancellors of the Universities of Jammu and Kashmir and Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University.
