Dr. SPM IIIT Naya Raipur was established by the International Institute of Information Technology University Act, 2013, enacted by the Government of Chhattisgarh, as a joint venture between the Chhattisgarh State Government and NTPC Limited, a central Public Sector Undertaking. Its fifty-acre residential campus is in Atal Nagar (Naya Raipur), about 23 km from Raipur, and it focuses on higher education, research and development in information technology and related disciplines.
