Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University - Gorakhpur

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University describes itself, on its own About Us page, as founded in 1950 and among the first universities to give Uttar Pradesh a higher-studies centre after independence. Named for political philosopher Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, it sits on a 190.96-acre campus in Gorakhpur and today comprises eight faculties and forty departments serving Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Western Bihar and Nepal, with more than 12,000 enrolled students, over half of them women.
