Chennai Mathematical Institute is a teaching and research institute at Siruseri on the southern outskirts of Chennai, founded in 1989 as part of the SPIC Science Foundation and autonomous since 1996. It began BSc and MSc programmes in mathematics and allied subjects in 1998 to close the gap between teaching and research, runs research groups in mathematics and computer science, and moved to the Siruseri campus in 2005.
