The University Polytechnic, BIT Mesra Library serves as a central facility of the Institute to supports the study, teaching, research and development programmes of the Institute since 2001. The library was established with only 300 volumes but now a collection of more than 13000 volumes which includes Text Books, Reference Books etc. The Library’s collection comprises hybrid resources (Print & Electronic) in the filed of science and technology and engineering. In the recent the Library has extended resources with the help of BIT main centre and has a separate Internet section consisting of a number of networked terminals for providing recent and most comprehensive access to online journals, online databases, nearly 1,47000 ebooks and other online reference resources to the faculty, students and staff under Intranet and Internet environment. Library operations have been automated with the help of an online source integrated library software package, KOHA. The book database is accessible through OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). Circulation Services are executed through Barcode System. Library has a well-equipped Xerox facility.

The college has sports facilities for all students. Ground for Track & Field events Cricket and football grounds Basket Ball, Volleyball,and badminton courts

The institute has a dispensary with basic facilities and medical staff. University Polytechnic staff and students can also avail facilities of health centre facility of BIT Dispensary. The BIT Dispensary is 20 bedded including 8 bedded two isolation wards fully functional Health Care Centreproviding facilities to BIT Students, Faculties, their families and staff members & their families plus Villagers around the Campus. The Dispensary is functioning in all the 3 shifts (Round the clock 24x7) including Sunday & Holidays attending all OPD and IPD & Emergency Cases. Presently it is manned by 5 Allopath & 1 Homeopath Doctor put in shift/General shift and about 20 paramedical staff. We have also Dentist, Physiotherapist, Eye, Skin, & Gynecologist as visiting specialist every week for health care service. The workforce, as per the need and work load is quite insufficient and we are in the process of appointing and adding up few more Doctors & Paramedics to give our services in a better way. The dispensary is functioning essentially as a primary health centre and patients who need specialized treatment or hospitalization are referred to multi specialty hospitals. All students and staff members & their two dependent children are covered under Mediclaim policy by Oriental General Insurance Company. The Health Centre is equipped with 4 Ambulances, available in all the 3 shifts fitted with Oxygen Cylinders & first aid kits.

The college has excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a departmental based laboratories facility for the students.
