Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya is an agricultural university with its headquarters at Mohanpur in Nadia district, West Bengal, established in 1974 with two faculties, Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences. Veterinary Sciences separated in 1995 to form the West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, and faculties of Horticulture and Agricultural Engineering were added when Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya was carved out in 2001. Extended campuses teaching undergraduate agriculture opened at Burdwan in 2014 and Bankura in 2015.
