B. J. Medical College is a government medical college in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, run under the state Department of Health and Family Welfare and located inside the Civil Hospital campus. It began in 1871 as the Ahmedabad Medical School with 14 students, was renamed B. J. Medical School in 1879 after a donation from Sir Byramjee Jeejeebhoy, and became B. J. Medical College in 1946. It has been affiliated to Gujarat University since 1951 for undergraduate courses and since 1956 for postgraduate courses.
