All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh is a public medical institute on the banks of the Ganges in Uttarakhand, set up under the first phase of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. Its first batch of 50 MBBS and BSc Nursing students enrolled in 2012, with outpatient and inpatient services beginning in mid-2013. It now offers courses from MBBS, BSc and MSc Nursing to MD/MS/MDS, MCh, DM and PhD, alongside AYUSH programmes.
