AIIMS Bhubaneswar (also known as All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhubaneswar) is one of the apex healthcare Institutes established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar was established as an autonomous institution and Institute of National Importance (INA) through the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Amendment Ordinance passed in 2012. AIIMS Bhubaneshwar offers MBBS as part of its academic curriculum.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar also caters a BSc (Hons) Nursing programme under its College of Nursing which was established in 2013 under Pradhan Mantri Swastya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). The first batch of BSc (H) Nursing with 60 seats was admitted in July 2013 through the AIIMS BSc (Nursing) Entrance Exam conducted by AIIMS New Delhi. The central library of AIIMS Bhubaneswar holds over 8000 books, 1600 journals, 13 newspapers and CINAHL Complete Database.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneshwar was established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 16th July 2012. It offers MBBS, B.Sc. Nursing Hons, MD Anatomy, MD Physiology, MD Biochemistry, M.Ch. Pediatric Surgery DM Clinical Hematology, DM Cardiology, MS General Surgery, among various other options. The foundation stone of the institute was laid by the then Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The institute is ranked 39 in the medical category and is an institute of national importance. The campus prides itself in its size of 100 acres, with more than 1000 student enrollments supported by 200 faculty members. The institute has secured 31st rank in the Medical category in NIRF 2021 Ranking.
