NEET-UG 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are citizens of India, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and foreign nationals are eligible to take NEET.

1.     Candidates must be qualified 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects in both Classes 11 and 12 from a recognized board.

2.     Minimum age of the candidate: 17 years as on December 31 of the year of admission

3.     Qualifying marks for the candidates: UR - 50%, OBC/SC/ST - 40%, PWD - 45% (minimum aggregate marks only for PCB subjects)

4.     There is no limit on the permitted number of attempts.

5.     Nationality of the candidates: Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs & Foreign Nationals

NEET-UG 2024: Registration Process of NEET UG 2024

 

  • Visit neet.ntaonline.in, the official website of NTA NEET.
  • Click on 'Fill Application Form'.
  • Read instructions and click 'Proceed to Apply Online'.
  • Enter personal details: name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, nationality, category, etc.
  • Click 'Preview and Submit'.
  • Verify details and click 'Next' to receive an application number and password on your mobile and email.
  • Log in with the provided details.
  • Fill academic details: class 10 and 12th marks, board name, roll number, etc.
  • Choose up to four preferred exam cities from the list.
  • Upload scanned copies of photograph, postcard size photograph, category certificate, disability certificate, and class 10 passing certificate in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Pay the application fee online according to the category using debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or Paytm, etc.
  • Download the confirmation page and take a printout for future reference.

Candidates are urged to carefully review the details before finalizing and submitting the application form, as alterations won't be permitted after the final submission. However, NTA will provide a correction window for a limited time, allowing candidates to make corrections in specific fields of the application form. The official website will later announce the dates and details of this correction window.

Upon completion of the application process, candidates can download their admit cards from the official website ahead of the exam date. The admit card will contain information about the exam center, date, time, and exam instructions. To the exam center, candidates must bring the admit card, a valid ID proof, and a passport-size photograph.
